Well faithful reader, the inevitable happened. SCHOOL GOT ME GAL. It's been a busy couple weeks but I found myself with a little bit of time to squeeze out a post, lowkey was soooooo close to giving up on this page but HERE WE ARE I'm glad to be here and I'm glad you're here too. :)

We have lots to cover, I do not want to make this post too unbearably long though so I'll chunk it up into pieces, worry not! It's also been a couple weeks since watching episodes 8 and 9 so forgive my detail-lacking writing that is to come. VAMOS!

Episode 8: Snatch Game of Love Island

WOAHHH new snatch game format in a REGULAR season?? Crazy stuff! I was kinda dreading it as you all know that the fandom doesn't exactly enjoy change all too much, but I think it totally worked. I enjoyed a lot of the celeb/character picks that the queens this season had, although the execution is another story LOL. I know my bias towards Myki is probably so annoying at this point and I apologize but I just HAVE to gush about her Drew holy shit y'all! Myki is truly one of a kind, her physical comedy and mannerisms and quick thinking along with her flexible execution of the character ideas she kinda had planned already were all 1000% ON IT. Now about that last part, I'd like to quickly refer to Suzie Toot's snatch game with Ellen Greene, she kinda was stubborn about sticking with the plan she had going into the challenge, but didn't really budge or adapt, yk? That's what I mean. Anyways, Myki ate, period. I mean- "Yes Lizzo..." HAHHHAHAHA.

Jane was also EXCELLENT, of course DUH. No notes, I kinda expect that from her at this point. Discord absolutely SHOCKED ME as I think she did to everyone?? Wow I love that she created this little old gay man character for a touchy snatch game pick, very bold, HUGE payoff. Now. Mia's Snatch Game was the absolute MOST TRAGIC bombing I've seen on television, perhaps ever. (But it was sorta iconic). Oh and also, Nini's was good, whatever, idk I'm not vibing with Nini right now, idk why? Kinda surprised she won. I didn't like the runway category this episode, all I'll say is that Juicy's look was my favfavfav.

Episode 9: Fannie, A Hardknock Ball: the Rusical!

OOOOO MY FAV CHALLENGE wow and WHAT A RUSICAL. This was probably up there in my top three Rusicals of all time to be honest. I loved last season's Wicked Wiz of Oz, and especially that they transitioned back to using the queen's recordings, so glad they kept that this time around. I was so insanely high while watching this episode and the Nini indecisiveness was SO CONFUSING to me lmaooo I remember seeing Myki dressed as Fannie and I was like wait I though Nini was Fannie omfg I was faded but ANYWAYS. Y'all know what I'm gonna sayyyyy MYKI ATE DEOWWNNNNNN. VOCALS. CHOREO. FACIALS. BAM BAM BAM. Knocked it out the fuckin park. Jane also was INSANEEEEEEEEEEEE she was so funnyyyyyy I like how they were both insanely perfect in completely different ways, I love them both. Kenya also pleasantly surprised me, she was made for that role and she ate Juicy UP I'm so sorry loll.

Okay, first of all, runway, love. Like- LOVE. Every girl brought their shit, I could not believe my eyes. Darlene was my top toot by FAR but Myki in BLONDEEEEE HELLOOOOOO AWOOGA gorgeous gorg gorg, her look was fab too. This was maybe my fav runway out of all the recent seasons (like- last 8 years). Second, lipsync. Athena should not have been in the bottom, I liked her song in the Rusical hello? It was so cutie, I love grandma Athena aw. I almost shed a tear or two during the lipsync, the song was shit but it did make me sad given the context. Overall wonderful episode! My fav of the season thus far. Also, I can confidently say after this episode that I would bet a tremendous amount of money on either Myki or Jane taking it all. Guranteed.

Episode 10: Drag in a Bag or whatever this episode is called

Reading mini challenge YAY! Myki was funny, so was Jane, Darlene too I think! Brick road read was crazyyy but funny asf. BRUH also I was freakin tricked I totally thought the eliminated girls were coming back! Oh well, I still really enjoyed the design concept this episode, and I loved how the fallen queens could sabotage a la Ciarra hehehe that was so funnyyy I was cracking tf up Jane was LOSING IT. But, guys, NO BALL EPISODE THIS SEASON? That's nutso bananas! Whateverrrr whatever.

I did not find any of the looks particularly EXCEPTIONALLLL? So we are just gonna jump right into Safety Pin Gate YAYYYY DRAMA! I was kinda gagged the girls brought up the safety pin thing with Discord during the who-should-go-home segment, great timing though! Made for good television #getthatemmygirl. I kinda felt bad for Discord, especially because she, lowkey, off the record, was being smart. She technically didn't cheat otherwise I think production would've said something like they did with Hormona last season righttt?? Idk, #justice4discord.

Darlene should've been in the top, sue me. Hot take, Jane was only in the top because of the condition the fabric was in, Darlene's look was the best out of all of them. Shoutout Fashion Photo Ruview! She was the top toot of the week on there as well. Her taste is so unique, who else would've thought to stuff the zebra fabric and give it an 80s tang n twang like- HUH? I can kinda see the fashion design degree vision in Darlene now, I'm excited to see what she has in her package for the rest of the season. Also, Darlene is performing at the Ren Theatre back in my hometown rn with Myki and I'm PISSED AND PEEVED that I'm not there goddammit! One week before spring break too tsk tsk.

Extra Notes:

Now that we are officially a little over halfway through, I am gonna come out and say that this is one of the best modern seasons of drag race we've had in a minute. Yes, the judging is skeptical, but I don't think there have been all too many casualties as a result of that, just bad placements. This cast is one of the BEST we've had, objectively, in a long ass time, props to casting team!
