Another week, another obnoxiously long recap and review! It's my bday though so for my bday gift you're legally obligated to read this WHOLE THING. Just kidding (no I'm not). Okay ANOTHER DESIGN CHALLENGE? Odd. Whatevs! Let's get to it, the challenge involved combos of iconic red-carpet looks to be used as inspiration, which I think is a pretty neat concept and I think it played out well. I'm gonna talk about the queens in their respective pairs, and tell you who MY fav is. ALSO, I must say the judging this episode, and this whole season honestly, has been wackadoo, sorry not sorry. And I'm gonna rant about it, idc! LAST NOTE, I am just gonna refer to the inspo looks as their colors or patterns or material, don't get mad at me please!

Juicy Love Dion & Briar Blush: Pink & Yellow

Juicy was the clear winner, of course, but lowkey how much of it did Jane do be honest BGAHAHAHA. I think her look was cute, and the color combo is lowkey kinda hard to make red-carpety but she sorta made it happen! WHEN IS SHE GONNA WEAR LONGER HAIR BRO. Briar was...well yeah. She was def the boot of the week BUT, honestly, I've seen SO much worse. I also didn't see the wrestler-ness of it all until Law pointed it out, so idk.

Discord Addams & Jane Don't: Black & Neon Green

ALRIGHT YALL, for realsies, what did Discord have to work with initially...because it looked like she was sewing in all the beading and ALLLLL of that which is insane! Even if it had a fit issue, I wouldn't usually flag it as a low placement garment. I did not enjoy the last-minute lame-ass excuses for neon green incorporation with the fur trim on those weird flaps at the bottom, but I digress. JANE DON'T, YOU BETTER DO. She won me back, I'm just so impressed by her she is too talented holyyy! Her taste is impeccable, literally no one else would've thought to make a garment of that style with the given color combo, and the HAIR. She could not have picked more perfect hair omg, she beat Discord ILY Jane.

Myki Meeks & Nini Coco: Tropical Greens/Blues & Leopard Print

I absolutely thought Nini was in the bottom not shade...I love the bitch but the shade of the greeeeeeen NONONO. How she beat my girl Myki is BEYOND me idfk. It was sort of plain queen I'm sorryyyyy! Myki got her shit together since last design challenge, she did SO much better and I liked the blue AND the appliques! This is DRAG more is lowk better and she didn't go overboard hello?? Maybe placement could've been better but idk. Also, maybe a less sheer blue fabric would've read better just because of the visible seams in the mesh? But I liked how she introduced that color! And the ruching was fabfabfab.

Mia Starr & Vita Vontesse Starr: Chandelier (?) & Lavender

I also thought Mia would be in the bottom...eek. I just really disliked the purple draping in the front, it was sort of sloppy and I cannot believe the judges didn't say anything about that! Apart from the draping though, I like it. I don't even have to say it BUT I will, Vita was absolute perfection of course and was three times better than any other girl this episode and she totally deserved that win. I do have to say though, I don't think Vita would have done that well had she been given a different combo...like denim and meat...but still. Great job, IDK HOWWW the judges thought that it was a close one between the two, Vita was the clear winner.

Ciarra Myst & Kenya Pleaser: Denim & Meat

This was def the hardest combo to get, but lowkey it was right up Ciarra's alley. I didn't QUITE see the vision at first but omg the idea of have the red and beading as meat-skin and denim as the coverup of this franken-drag creature she acted out, I lived. Wonderful, and Gaga would legitimately wear this I think! Kenya's garment was also so cute, I understand why she recieved a low palcement, because she didn't reallyyyyy make references to either of the looks she was given as inspiration, but it was still excellently made. Ciarra took it for me though, I'm so happy that she got her flowers this episode.

Darlene Mitchell & Athena Dion: Floral & Metallic

This was also a very difficult combo to pull off I must say. Darlene's look confused me at first, especially the hat...BUT I SEE IT NOW. If you haven't seen her Instagram post for her photoshoot with this look, go look right this instant, it's PERFECTION I adore Darlene MUAH! Athena did great too! She made a very traditional draggy garment, did a really great job combing the colors in a way that wasn't too much, and everything was really polished, wonderful job. But, Darlene takes it for me.

Extra Notes!

I think y'all know how I feel about the judging, the need to get a fuckin grip because I'm sick of ittttt! What is going on here on this dayyyy.

The drama this ep was... omggg wow i don't know how to feel, I feel like we are missing out on something because the whole situation between Mia and Briar and Athena AND Juicy was just so strange and vague, idk. No further comments on that!

I just need to talk about a few things that pissed me off real quick speed round! Nini's basic-ass garment, again, WHY THAT COLOR GREEN BARFFFF. Darlene's shoes were FINE why are they so picky cmon at this point it's totally subjective, they have no reason to be hating. Darlene is really tall too, which ig Ru can relate too but give my girl a break! Myki's applique situaiton, AGAIN, was totally okay I am shocked they pointed that out but not Mia's poor draping job SMH.

THE CATASTROPHE. And the lipsync too, i guess...

I think the fainting was real, and more importantly I think that Vita is so fucking rotted for IMMEDIATELY, WHILE BRIAR WAS STILLLL DOWN, calling her a liar. That's insane. I am hating on Vita now that's a hell nah from me. The fact they keep questioning whether it was real or not on the socials and on Pit Stop is also CRAZY I feel terrible for Briar omg.

The lipsync was okay, much better than last week, Kenya really pulled it tf OUT with that first split, if I was Briar I woulda walked out no shade...oh well. I'm REALLY excited for Zara Larsson next week though, the lipsync better go crazy.

Final Thoughts

This was a super creative design challenge, I personally enjoyed it. The queens overall did a fantastic job I must say, there were no GLARING flops which is very very VERY rare tbh

Current Winner Pick: Dun dun dunnnn Ja- Myki Meeks! (tbh I don't think this will change) Honorable mentions go to Darlene Mitchell ANDDDDDD...Jane Don't is back! It would've maybe been Vita if she hadn't been rotted but yk...

RATE A QUEEN IS BACK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS YAYAYAYYAY I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED you better come back next week because we are gonna shake it bake it and wake it tf up MUAH MUAH byeeee!
