First book review woohoo! This was my first read of the new year, and a pretty great one at that! Also, I pinky promise there will be no significant spoilers whatsoever so proceed with NO CAUTION AT ALL.

I picked this book up on a whim in the middle of a used book store that I only recently discovered, it's quite lovely. I vaguely remembered seeing it on a list of books with wlw themes and so of course I had no other option but to snatch it up into my grimey hands immediately. It sat on my desk for a few days and I kept staring at it because I still had not finished Our Wives In the Sea, so one day I just blazed through that one (which was fantastic and tragic by the way) so I could finally get started on the bright red shiny book that had intrigued me so!

Very Vague Summary and Commentary

I'll first answer the question that I heard multiple times in the process of enjoying this book. So, Interesting Facts About Space does, in fact, have many interesting facts about space. All of which come from the strange mind of a fictional twenty-something year old lesbian with a severe fear of bald men, which I find to be much more interesting than space anyways.

The story covers Enid, our brave hero, and her dating shenanigans along with her journey with paranoia, self doubt, and ptsd (woof, kinda dark turn ikr!). My funny bone was quite tickled in the first half, Austin's phrasing reminded me of how my inner narrator speaks, which made this book VERY comprehendible to me as you could imagine. There was a quote contained in Enid's inner monologue that entertained me thoroughly, which I will insert into the visually appealing quotation box below! I'm not going to provide context because it is very confusing to read by itself, so you'll just HAVE to read the book to grasp the ridiculousness of it all.

Final Notes

It was a quick and easy read, pretty funny throughout, and it was also VERY gay thank god! Also, no lesbians die, AND there may or may not be a happy ending shhhh (YAYYYY)! Just read it.

Read 12/29/25-1/03/26, I give it 3.6 stars out of 5!
